The software

Does Pluméo work on a Mac?

Not yet. Pluméo works on Windows 10 and 11. A Mac version is being considered for later, with no promised date.

Is Pluméo in English?

Yes. Pluméo speaks English and French: the interface, the guide (F1) and the sample book. It starts in English if Windows is in English, and you can change the language at any time in Settings.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Pluméo works entirely offline. Only the update check connects (it sends nothing but the version number), and you can turn it off.

Where are my texts?

On your computer, in Documents\Pluméo by default, one file per book. You can keep it elsewhere: USB stick, external drive, OneDrive or Dropbox.

Can I import my Word manuscript?

Yes. Pluméo splits it into chapters and scenes automatically. It also imports Markdown and text files.

Can I leave Pluméo one day?

Yes, at any time: export your book to Word, PDF, EPUB, Markdown or a folder of ordinary text files. You are never locked in.

Does Pluméo use AI?

No, and it always will be no: no version of Pluméo will ever contain AI. Pluméo writes, rephrases and suggests no sentences: all the text comes from you. Nothing leaves your computer, and no artificial intelligence reads your texts or trains on them.

Does Pluméo check grammar?

Pluméo uses the Windows spell checker and applies smart typography as you type. It doesn’t replace a full grammar checker.

Can I write a screenplay, a play or non-fiction?

Not yet: today Pluméo handles the novel, the short story collection and the children’s and YA novel. Other genres will come later, with no promised date.

Can I use Pluméo on two computers with OneDrive?

Your file can live in OneDrive or Dropbox, and Pluméo warns you if the book is already open on another computer. Pluméo has no built-in sync. Note that a licence is for one computer.

Why does Windows show a warning during installation?

Windows’ SmartScreen filter is wary of recent software it doesn’t know yet. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. All the details are on the Download page.

The trial and buying

What happens at the end of the trial?

Your books stay readable, searchable, exportable and backed up. Only writing is blocked until you buy a licence.

How much does Pluméo cost?

€69 including VAT, paid once, no subscription. Launch price: €59 until 31 December 2026.

How many computers can I install it on?

A licence is for one computer. To change computers, simply enter it on the new one.

Are updates paid?

All version 1 updates are free.

What if Pluméo isn’t right for me?

That is what the free trial is for: 14 days with every feature, no credit card. You only buy if you like Pluméo.

How do I receive my licence?

By email, within minutes of buying. Paste the key into Pluméo: home screen, “Enter a licence”, then “Activate the licence”.
